Appliance Fire - West Whiteland(Box 0605)

 

On November 18th, 2011 at 22:44 Station 6 and Station 5 were dispatched to the McDonalds in West Whiteland Township for an appliance on fire reported as a fryer. Engine 6-2 made a quick response and arrived on-scene with a grease fire within the building. The Engine crew was able to knock the fire with a dry chemical extinguisher. After the unit was removed from the wall crews removed the back of the fryer to get to the source and put the fire out. East Whiteland assisted with ventilation of the building.

May 14, 2011
Dwelling - West Whiteland (Box 0605)

 

On May 14th, 2011 at 02:56 Station 6 was dispatched along with Station 47 for an Engine and Station 87 Ambulance to the report of a dwelling fire on the 300 block of Shoen Road in West Whiteland Township. Chief 6, Assistant 6 and Engine 6-2 made a quick response. Chief 6 arrived on scene and reported a smoke condition on the inside of the dwelling with a fire in the kitchen, and also requested "Shoen Road Command". Engine 6-1 arrived on scene with a full crew and made a made a quick stop to the fire. The fire was placed under control at 03:12, just as Tower 6 was arriving on scene. All units cleared the scene available at 04:43.

March 13, 2011
Dwelling - West Whiteland (Box 0618)

 

On March 13th, 2011 at 12:14 Station 6 was dispatched along with Station 51 for an Engine and Station 87 Ambulance for Micu 87-6 to the report of a dwelling fire in the Indian King development in West Whiteland Township. Chief 6, and Engine 6-2 made a quick response. Chief 6 arrived on scene and reported nothing showing from the exterior, and also requested "Cardigan Command". Engine 6-1 arrived on scene with 4 and followed the smoke to the basement. Upon our search we found a fire in the dryer in the basement and headed back up to grab a hoseline. The fire was placed under control at 12:34. All units cleared the scene available at 13:08.

January 23, 2011- Alarm #31
Relocate/Dwelling - West Chester(Box 5201)

 

On January 23th, 2011 at 06:09 Station 6 was dispatched for an Engine to relocate to Station 52. Assistant 6 (M.Koenig) and Engine 6-1 (K. Miller) made a quick response. Within 33 minutes of being at Station 52, Matlack St Command advised the Chester County Fire Board that they wanted to bring us into the scene. Assistant 6 and Engine 6-1 arrived on scene at 06:57. The Engine crew immediately went to work into the exposure building. Crews had to breach the walls into the fire building to check for more fire and further extension. Engine 6-1 left the fire scene at 09:10 and was sent to Station 53 for another 28 minutes before the WCFD returned available. Station 6 crews cleared at 09:28.

September 10th, 2010- Alarm #384
Millview Apartment Building- Coatesville (Box 4331)

 

On September 10th, 2010 at 01:30 Rescue 6 was dispatched on the third alarm assignment into Coatesville to the 1800 block of Saginaw Drive for a apartment building fire. Assistant 6 and Rescue 6 made a response to the City. Upon our arrival crews had a already switched to a defensive fire attack following a collapse injuring firefighters. Our crew went into the exposure building to check for any extension. The wall was breached into the fire building for a further inspection while the ladder pipes were working to control the fire. Station 6 crews cleared at 03:40.

September 5th, 2010- Alarm #381
Auto Accident Reported Serious- West Whiteland (Box 0622)

 

On September 5th, 2010 at 15:02 Station 6 was dispatched to the Route 30 Bypass West bound @ Route 100 for an Auto Accident Reported Serious. Rescue arrived first on scene within 2 minutes of dispatch to find 2 vehicles hit. A total of 4 patients were involved in the wreck which were checked by Uwchlan Ambulance, and Station 5 EMS. The roadway was shut down by Fire Police for a period of time while the road was cleared. Station 6 crews cleared at 15:52.

August 9th, 2010- Alarm #347
Auto Accident W/ Entrapment- West Whiteland (Box 0604)

 

On August 9th, 2010 at 22:03 Station 6 was dispatched to an auto accident reported with entrapment in the area of Commerce Dr east of Whitford Rd in West Whiteland Township. The Station made an immediate response with Assistant 6 and Rescue 6 rolling out the door within 3 minutes. Upon Assistant 6's arrival, he advised Chester County he had one pick up truck into against the Metropolitan Building, requested a helicopter be placed on stand-by, and setup Commerce Command. Engine 6-2 arrived on scene to assist with more man power and was shortly diverted to the Oaklands Landing Zone after it was determined to be a flight with Chief 6 as the LZO. Extrication was complete at 22:20, making the extrication time only 13 minutes after arriving on scene. Station 6 fire crews cleared at 23:06.

On July 25th, 2010 at 15:49 Station 6 was dispatched for Tower 6 to Exeter Drive for a dwelling fire in West Goshen Township. Upon Assistant 54's arrival, he advised Chester County he needed a working fire dispatch, and a second alarm at 15:49. Engine 54-2 arrived on scene at 15:53. Station 6 crews arrived on scene and assisted with overhaul operations. Station 6 fire crews cleared at 16:57.

July 7, 2010- Alarm #304
Whiteland Woods Development - West Whiteland (Box 0616)

 

On July 7th, 2010 at 12:23 Station 6 was dispatched for a dwelling fire which included Lionville for an engine, along with Uwchlan Ambulance for Micu 87-6. Chief 6 (N. Shirk) arrived on scene advising units he had heavy smoke with fire showing, and setup "Torrey Pine Command". Engine 6-1 arrived on scene with Deputy 6 (M. Moses) at 12:31 and pulled two lines making an interior attack to push the fire out of the garage so that there was no further extension into the house. Chief 6 asked for the second alarm for the assignment at 12:35 which brought 47 for the balance, along with Ambulance 55 and an Engine from First West Chester. Tower 6 (Lt. K. Miller) crew went to the roof for ventilation as the fire attack crew was putting a stop to the fire. The fire was place under control at 13:04. Station 6 crews cleared at 14:55. Fire Police were on scene to control traffic. Special thanks to Goshen Fire Company for standing by in our station.

On June 24th, 2010 at 15:14 Station 6 was dispatched for two engines to Gramercy Lane for a dwelling fire in Uwchlan Township. Engine 47-2 arrived on scene with Battalion 47 at 15:19 and confirmed heavy fire showing from the first floor, and requested the 2nd alarm. Station 6 crews arrived on scene and assisted with fire suppression. The fire was placed under control at 16:41. Station 6 fire crews cleared at 17:33.

On May 29th, 2010 at 15:45 Station 6 was dispatched to a dwelling fire in Uwchlan Township. Deputy 47 arrived on scene at 15:50 and confirmed heavy smoke showing on the second floor. Station 6 crews arrived on scene and opened up the inside of the fire room checking for extension. The fire was placed under control at 16:06.

Station 6 fire crews cleared at 16:36. Fire Police cleared at 17:36.

Auto Accident W/ Entrapment- West Whiteland (Box 0607)

 

On May 29th, 2010 at 02:23 Station 6 was dispatched for an Auto Accident with Entrapment. Chief 6 arrived on scene first and setup Route 100 Command. Rescue 6 arrived seconds after grabbed tools, and headed down the embankment to the vehicle to begin extrication with the ambulance crew. The doors and the roof were cut out of the way for the EMS crew to get to the patient.The patient was out and heading to the LZ within 30 minutes of our arrival.

Rescue crews cleared at 03:33. Fire Police cleared at 09:15.
