On December 26 at 5:44 AM, The West Whiteland Fire Company responded to the borough of West Chester for a 2 alarm working apartment fire with entrapment. Crews operated as the Rapid Intervention Team. Crews from The Good Will Fire Company #2 of West Chester,First West Chester Fire Co., Engine Co. 51 and Fame Fire Co. No. 3 rescued one individual from the home who unfortunately succumbed to their injuries at the hospital.
West Whiteland operated for 3.5 hours with roof ventilation, R.I.T., and overhaul.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation by the Fire Marshal’s office.
