Last night for our weekly training, members took advantage of an opportunity to practice some industrial rescue scenarios. In the first evolution, a victim was pinned underneath of an excavator. Crews utilized airbags and cribbing to stabilize and lift the machine off of the victim. In the second evolution, a victim was trapped underneath of a steel road plate. Due to the weight of the plate, crews used a combination of chains, wood, and airbags to lift and slide the plate in order to free the victim. We are fortunate to have the training resources available to us and train for every type of emergency.
