Incident Type: FIRE-BRUSH
Dispatch details: LARGE BRUSH FIRE IN AREA BETWEEN BYPASS AND TRAIN TRACKS

At 2:54 PM, The West Whiteland Fire Company was dispatched to a brush fire in between the east bound Route 30 bypass and the Amtrak rail lines. Once crews were able to access the train tracks, they had about 2 acres of woods on fire and it continued to spread to about 5 acres. Crews were assisted by Station 47 (Lionville), ATV 49 (East Brandywine), Brush 56 (Goshen), Brush 45 (Downingtown), Station 5 (East Whiteland), The DCNR Forestry Unit, 87 (Uwchlan Ambulance), West Whiteland Police, and Amtrak Police. After crews had the fire under control, there was extensive overhaul to make sure all of the fire was out. Crews were in service for about 3 hours. Great work by everyone involved. Also a big thank you to Paoli and Twin Valley Fire companies for standing by at Station 6.
